Stainless steel cold-rolled plates are made by rolling and processing on the basis of stainless steel hot-rolled plates (annealing and pickling are generally No.1 surfaces). Generally, there are two surfaces, 2B and 2D. The 2D surface is a bit rougher, while the 2B surface is matte and more delicate. 98% of the products on the market have a 2B surface. Therefore, when people talk about stainless steel cold-rolled plates, they usually refer to the 2B surface of the stainless steel cold-rolled plates. Stainless steel brushed plates are processed on the surface of stainless steel 2B,2D and even NO.1 using 120#, 180#, 240# or 320# brushed machines. Due to the relatively large sand holes on the hot-rolled surface, it is not suitable as a decorative material and is only used in a very few specific industries. Due to the inherent smoothness of the surface of stainless steel cold-rolled plates (especially the 2B surface), the effect of the produced brushed plates is good. Therefore, the stainless steel brushed plates sold on the market are generally made from the 2B surface of stainless steel.
Stainless steel cold-rolled sheet refers to the steel sheet made by cold treatment, pickling and then flattening with a rough surface roller. It is generally used for rust prevention, corrosion resistance and decoration, etc.
The thickness of the steel plate is 0.40 to 0.80 mm. Its dimensional specifications and allowable deviations shall comply with the provisions of GB/T708 "Cold-rolled Steel Plates and Strips". Stainless steel cold-rolled plates are classified into five types according to their microstructure characteristics: austenitic type, austenitic-ferritic type, ferritic type, martensitic type and precipitation-hardening type.
Stainless steel cold-rolled steel can be classified into four states based on different cold work hardening conditions: low cold work hardening (DY), semi-cold work hardening (BY), cold work hardening (Y), and special cold work hardening (TY).
After cold rolling, steel plates should undergo corresponding heat treatment (solution treatment, annealing, quenching and tempering, aging, etc.), and then acid washing or similar treatment, and finally straightening. For precipitation-hardened steel sections, the buyer shall specify the type of treatment for the steel plate or sample.
The stainless steel plate undergoes cold rolling, heat treatment, pickling, and then is leveled by a rough surface roller, which is called 2D surface processing. 2D can be a pickling surface or a rough surface.
After pickling, a large-diameter high-precision polishing roller is used for a small reduction in flatness (this can only slightly reduce the roughness, but it can improve the luster and flatness), forming a 2B surface processing of stainless steel.
Although there are many factors influencing the surface roughness of steel plates, cold rolling plays a leading role. The total amount of cold rolling determines that the surface roughness range is 0.1 to 1.0μm. There is a specific introduction on China Steel Spot Network. Due to different performance requirements (such as scratch resistance and coating adhesion, etc.). When a rough surface is required, 2D is selected, with a surface roughness of 0.5 to 3.0μm.
High-reflectivity rolled 2R(BA) surface treatment is carried out through bright annealing in a reduced dry nitrogen/hydrogen atmosphere, without the need for pickling and passivation treatment.
